EEs are like a box of chocolates; you never know what you're going to get! Sorry you didn't get a pretty blue, though.

Our EE hasn't started laying yet and we're hoping for blue/green something or other like that. If she doesn't, though, oh well. She's a darn pretty bird and quite a silly one, too, so we'll keep her anyway.

You know, I bought two EEs from an Amish fellow at a swap meet here in Ohio. He was very honest to warn me that he bought these pullets from the (I think it was called Double Eagle or Spread Eagle hatchery), and that a few of the hens were laying brown eggs. I was very lucky and these girls lay a really bright green/blue egg! Maybe order from that hatchery.......

I also ordered EEs from the Meyer Hatchery and their eggs were a nice sea foam green, but not as bright as these that I have from the Amish man.
