I'm sorry, I'll never take the egg till you leave the coop....geez!

ray's two cents :

Maybe the silkies just can't see very well.

I did find it weird that silkies have HUGE eyes.

And I gave my silkies haircuts so I can see their

eyes, and they can see me. I knew it was time when I gave a treat, and my hen started eating air

Personally, I don't bother them when they're laying aside from peeking through the pop door. I also never take the eggs until they've left the coop. I don't know, I just fell like they work hard to produce that beautiful egg for me, I let them hamg out as long as they want to.

I can imagine it, a silkie getting a haircut... oh my!
Who would've thought! Huge eyes, maybe so that they aren't blinded altogether!

You have offended her Royal Highness!

Last Easter we had a little girl at our place to hunt for easter eggs. She left her basket sitting outside and when we came back later one of our younger hens was sitting on it. We had to wait until she had cleared the area before removing the little present she left behind because that was now HER basket. Well, it was until we threw some treats, then she forgot about it.

I occasionally grab an egg from under Tuppence because she tend to sit for a bit longer than I'm happy to wait for my breakfast. WHen I do though, she growls at me, then starts doing a really loud egg song outside in the run. After a while she'll calm down again, but then after half an hour or so she goes back in the nest, sits for a bit, then gets up and does the egg song again. It's like she needed to finish on her own terms, not mine!
