I'm starting to stress!! -update- Sad day, none of them made it.

Thanks Wildsky.

I'll just have to wait a bit and see, I guess.

DH just brought me a 55gal barrel to turn in to a swimming pool, and I keep looking at that empty brooder.

Anyone know how to change the subject line? I've seen subjects that I think are edited, like to say *update* or *pics added*

Cham - I am so sorry... I know the feeling - I just cleared out two incubators and buried the eggs - zilch - nada on hatching. The temps were hard to regulate with the still air bators and I think both bators spiked their temps and cooked my eggs. I have two Genesis bators - and they are awesome!

By all means - go hook up your Genesis and get it ready - and order more eggs!

You should check out PoisonIvy's post on regulating humidity with aquarium tubing and a syringe - she is very inventive. I am going out to purchase my tubing and syringe tomorrow! Go order those eggs girl!

Thanks for the tech support Wildsky, that seems really logical, but you wouldn't believe how long I struggled trying to figure it out.

Gina, thanks for feeling sorry for me. I'm feeling pretty sorry for myself right now, and when someone else feels sorry for me too, it does seem to help. I really don't know if I'll try again this year. I do have a wonderful little flock of chicks already (8 wks old- spending their first night in the new coop!) and more chicken eggs in the genesis, and am looking forward to a better hatch with them.

Serendipity! I'm so sorry to hear that. Why did you bury your eggs instead of just throw them in the trash? That's the same thing I did, but couldn't really figure out why. Just didn't want the little buggers in the garbage for some reason.

I made a lot of mistakes. I think a mix of inexperience, sensor issues that weren't completely my fault, a homemade bator with a thermostat issue, and partly I was just over confident. There's a lot of really good advice on this board, and some I ignored because I thought everything would be 'fine'. Anyway, it all just adds up to bad.

I'll decide in a couple of days what to do about the ducklings. Maybe I'll wait till the chicks hatch and see how that goes. I'm on day 11 and 12

Thanks again, everyone for your thoughts and kind words. It's nice to have someplace to vent where people really do understand how much this kind of thing matters.

Chamelle

edited to say I'm doing a search for poisonIvys humidity post right now, thanks!
