I'm starting to think my new duck is a goose...?

That doesn't mean it can't work. All they are saying is this person is going to try. Lets hope that Cas will work out. This site is for support and help. So lets support them.

GOOD LUCK and I wish you the best!
THANK YOU!

If I wasn't already married, I'd ask you out, lol :)

I've had private conversations with Even. She is an amazing strong woman who possesses deep empathy and compassion for animals. If anyone can make this work, she can.

Thanks again. I hope we can all be supportive of each other. That's why I am here.

LOL. I agree I am here to support and to be supported.

I have had two geese who grew up together and loved me and each other then one day I went out take care of them and found the one attacking the other. Sadly it died of its injures. I had to give the other away. What I am getting at is some geese work great in pairs in this case that was not true. Some geese don't work well alone, this goose might.

No, if you check later, she said there were geese in the bucket next to the ducks
I did not see that. But when I first got into ducks I didn't know the difference. When i got into chickens I knew nothing. You have to start somewhere. I wish i would have found this site sooner because it was all trial and error before. Now i hove people to ask for help, people who don't make me feel stupid for asking this i don't know. That's how we learn.

I would never get an animal before researching. I knew the difference, why can't anyone else? I spent months researching the Great Pyrenees before I contacted a breeder, and I'm currently taking to a Pitbull breeder. I've been talking to him for almost a year and I won't get my new puppy until October. You should ALWAYS do research before trying to raise a living thing.

So it's not possible to mistake week old ducklings for a day old gosling? It's not like I confused a kitten with a puppy. I HAD done my research and still AM. I was believing the FARMER the BREEDER here who told me everything in Cas's "bin" were DUCKS. Who was I to question it? And, if you look at my posts, and how long I've been here, you'll also notice it took me no longer than having him here 24 hours to realize that DESPITE what the farmer told me he was, that Cas is in fact a goose. What if your pit bull breeder is really breeding bulldogs, which FYI look an awful lot like pit pups as babies, and he TELLS you its a pit.

I'm not here to argue with anyone. I've been through a rough time lately and Cas is helping me heal. He fills a hole I thought would never be filled. As he grows I will do whatever it is thats best for him. I'm tired of being made to feel like an awful person for loving an animal!

To the others here, you know who you are. Thank you all so much for helping, listening, and guiding without judgement and with helpful advice. I've already made a few friends here and I hope to make many more! Thank you guys so much

The thing is, I would do my research about the breeder. I only buy from a reputable breeder who has his dogs champed out, health tested, and with good reviews.

This is why I don't buy my pets from feed stores or pet stores. Only from a reputable hatchery.

And still, baby geese and baby ducks have COMPLETELY different body styles and head styles. They walk different, sound different, act different. It shouldn't be hard to tell the difference between bright yellow Pekin ducks and black and yellow Pomeranian geese.

Please, Evenlater, I'm really trying not to be mean or rude. You have to understand that. I'm going to accept that you are going to try to raise a house goose, and I will support that. But you DID ask a question on a PUBLIC forum where ANYONE with ANY opinion can comment.
