Just for comparison, here is a picture of my 13 week old Rhode Island Red from the feed store.
It isn't the most flattering picture, but it shows her facial features good for comparison.
SHE was in the pullet bin and we want her to be a girl too. So far, everyone that's seen her has agreed girl.

Your "red chicken" has a bit bigger comb and wattles than my Rhodie.

If they turn brighter red, it's probably a roo.

BTW-I didn't realize my RIR was just a generic chicken bred to be a good layer...interesting because I did pick her for her brown eggs.

She is a production red...pullet at first glance but those waddles are mighty big, could still pass off as a pullet..
