im thinking of getting bob white quail i need some help!!!

I have rased chickens for 11 years now and i have hatched them before with no problem.:

can you mix quail in with my chickens and turkeys in the same coop??

what do i need to feed them?


what temp does the incubator need to be at 100 degrees?


do they lay eggs daily?

do they rost?

with the mixing quail in with my turkeys and chickens i mix wild game starter (which is high protein) with start and grow and corn.

would that be enough for them?


I have 1 in wire all around my coop would that hold them in?

also i will wait till they are full grown to put them in with the chickens.

can they fly when kept in a box when they are little and put in a coop thats 5 ft high when they are full grown?

What kind of quail are you thinking? I'm not sure you can mix them with the chickens, coturnix are too small, my chickens would pick on them.

What you may be able to do, depending on the size of your coop, is add a quail loft or a wall hutch, either inside or outside the coop, but within the run. (I'm assumming you want in the run to discourage predators yes?)

what do you mean by in the run?

what is a run

A "run" would be a chicken yard, the fenced in part, the coop is the actual chicken building.
