I'm totally bummed

The county fair is coming September 5th - 8th. We can't go cuz DH is working those days. Though I can think of one other person I could go with (a former co-worker) it wouldn't be the same without DH cuz he's my best friend. Besides if I were to go with her, her DH would go too and he's a drunk. I have zero tolerance for drunks.
The good news is DH is on vacation during the Four States fair later in the month of September.
I prefer the neighborhood feeling of the county fair over the big one, but at least we'll get to go to A fair this year.

Really? We don't have admission at our Fair, just parking.
And you can see the animals, watch the shows, do most anything except eat for free!(except ride the rides, they're really expensive and really bad)
Life is Fair. Anybody who tells you otherwise isn't in 4-H!

Our county fairs have free parking but charge $4-$6 to get in. We don't ride (hang out in the poultry barns instead!) but the food prices are horrible. Took DS with us last weekend and between the 3 of us, went through about $50. Fortunately DS is out of town this weekend so we'll save a few $$ tomorrow at a different fair!

What about going by yourself? Or find someone else to go with you?

If you really want to go, don't let anything prevent you from doing so. DH and I do a lot together, but we do plenty things alone or with friends, too.

Our county fair has free parking, but charges $8 to get in. The good thing about that $8 is that this covers all the rides, you only have to pay for food and games. But there's not anything much to see there, no animals and stuff. Just the 'grandstand' shows, like mud drags and stuff.
