@Texas Kiki was right about Tomball, but I was in spring branch when it got bad, I had to return my rental yesterday morning, roommate followed me over so I had a ride home, but then it got bad and we could get around to get home.
It was fun riding with him though, big white dual cab f150 driving crazy around everyone that kept trying to go slow through the water. We were going through high waters that everyone else was stalling out in because he was racing through them.

Then he tried to make a turn and we got stuck in a ditch, got a tow out and went back to crazy, fun - we were trying to make it to a friend of his house since we couldn't get home, but then when we were almost there - we saw what looked like a truck stalled out, and he tried to go up on a sidewalk to be slightly higher and we got stuck. Gathered up important stuff, locked down his tools, and bounced. Wading through the water and rain to his friends house - waited a few hours and the water that was up to my chest was completely gone. This is what were were stuck in and couldn't get out for over 12 hours...

This guy came by and tried to pull us out, but snapped the cable because the truck wouldn't budge.

Then an 18 wheeler came along and he tried to pull us and ended up stuck in the mud, too.

Then the 18 wheeler had a friend come by that had unloaded their trailer to try to pull him out and they couldn't do it. My roommate and his friend and the other two guys spent 4 hours or better trying to dig the semi's wheels out of the mud enough to pull it out. We were all covered in mud, head to tow - the semi's friend pulled us out by the front when my tow truck driver friend never showed up, and when he finally called and said he was on the way at 3am - I told him we didn't need him cause the other truck hitched up and was about to pull us out.

We got out, and headed home - his truck is very beat up and on last legs before the flooding, we were both shocked it made it as far as it did, and even though we kept having to stop to put water in it, even more surprised that it made it home.

Will wants to blow the truck up, lol.

I kept mine inside today because I didnt know when I would get home. As it is I'm only here til about 10, gotta go back out driving before I dont have a car to make money with.

It's been raining here off and on all day. I've been cleaning because ducks got left in their room for the last two days, I put them outside today though. They didnt even care that it was raining, went right out to play in the mud.

Back to cleaning, so it smells less like a barn in here and more like a home... I need my drill back, cause I think with just the three of them, they'd be fine outside, if I could get fort duck knox rebuilt.

The rain didn't actually make it to me today. It stayed just far enough away.

It's going to be non stop rain for days. I had no idea this was coming so I hadn't stocked up on toilet paper yet. Hopefully tomorrow morning I can make it to the store to get some.

Did you make it home safe?

Yes. I waited it out. Work released everyone in the middle of the crap. What were they thinking? I sat and waited for the waters to recede like Noah. By the time I left, the roads that were closed were mostly drained. I drove around the closed road barricade, splashed in one section of water and went home that didn't touch the axles. QED.

Coworker took 3 hours for his 1 hour trip. Why drive through the mess? Wait until it is over. I grant that this area passed the rain, but the flooding continued in Houston proper and several people have 1 hour commutes. It was raining on their commute.
