Immediate crisis, abandoned egg, please help

I have an egg, due to hatch. I can hear the chick moving and chirping, but the hen has abandoned the nest. I do not have nor can I procure an incubator, what can I do??? The rest of the chicks hatched yesterday and mom seems preoccupied with them and not inclined to take care of this one

You should try to order a couple of day old chicks so that when your chick hatches and you get her sorted out with a heat lamp and food she will have a friend right away. Otherwise she will be too sad and be a permanent emotional wreck (hard to deal with!!!) Before they arrive you will have to pick her up day and night since she will require companionship and a mom. Sleep with her box next to your bed. Sleep in the garage if you have to.

I have hatched a chick in my bra successfully when the power went out on the day the chick started to hatch. I have killed a chick with a heat pad. I would not recommend the heat pad because you can't monitor the temperature. I would rather make an incubator out of a cardboard box quickly and monitor the temp with a thermometer.

Sneak the chick under mom in the dark of night. Be up in the morning to make sure chick is safe & accepted.

Hahaha--I've kept orphaned baby rabbits and opossums in my bra to rewarm them until I could get home with them. None of them developed a complex...

I once helped a chick out of the egg. There was the tiniest hole in the shell so I knew she was ready. I ended up having to raise her as an orphan because the mother was taken by a cat that day. She was healthy and fabulous though.
