Oh my! I don't know for certain. Hopefully some of the more seasoned and experienced people on here can give you some help. I'm only good for support on this one! Sorry.

some people will tell you to take something greasy and poke the stuff back in side.
not me I believe in culling the hen to stop the pain . take your foot place on her head while holding her feet and pull real hard. the head will come off and her pain will be gone. turn loose and get away to avoid blood.
if you can't do this perhaps you can find someone to do it for you this is not cruel it is humane. my opinion.

I would suggest dropping her off at the vets office, as I doubt at that age she could withstand the pain of having them pushed in.
Hooking her up in a plastic bag hooked to the tail pipe to your car will allow her to just go to sleep. That is one of the humane ways to put her to sleep.
Good luck and many hugs!!! Call Chickn or Frozen Feathers. Perhaps they would know best.

I had to go to school today, went back home 2 hours later and did the deed. She was not moving, just sitting, so I got a grip and twisted. I did not think I could do, but did, and feel better for her having done it! There was no way all that was hanging out could ever get safely back in... thank you for your support.

It's never easy culling our birds, but I do think you did the right thing. I know you loved your girl or she wouldn't have lived for as long as she did. At least you know that she had a long and happy life. Sending you lots of hugs!
