Imminent eggs?

So I've got 8 pullets, all about 5.5mos old, various breeds... One of the barred rock's comb/face/wattles has turned from the pale pink to a deep red over the last week or so. Does this mean she should be laying any day now? We are about to go out of town for a week so it would make sense that they would start laying the one week we're going to be gone

The red comb could be a sign indeed. My Barred Rock was one of the earlier breeds to start laying. It took at least a month for all the pullets to lay their first egg.

She's also been a little more aggressive towards some of the other pullets, she's probably going through some hormonal changes I'd imagine...
