Hi all new person here...

I’ve been keeping chickens for about 3 years now and have since introduced two new chickens in, but after about a year the dopey one (of the now 4 strong flock) hurt her leg and was limping. This seemed to heal slowly and she regained her strength, but she took a massive turn for the worse at the start of this week and was bullied quite badly by the other 3, and now is unwilling/unable to move, often with legs splayed out at various angles and her head being used for balance by resting it on the floor. We separated her almost immediately into ‘solitary confinement’ but she only seems to be going downhill, but still eats the same, if not more than the others. I don’t think it’s mareks as she still can move her legs around, but I can’t think what else other than a dislocation/break but surely that would have only impacted the leg she hurt in the first place? Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks

Have you googled her symptoms? Maybe she is sick. It could also be she hurt her leg. I would keep a close eye on her and feed her some really healthy and nutritious food for now (yogurt, oats, fruits and veggies) I have no clue but hopefully she recovers!

Hi

Yeah I’ve google the symptoms, keeps bring me back to other pages on here . We always feed them healthy stuff and normally get them running round the garden after grapes and sweetcorn, but this one looks like she’s just melted on the floor, fully spread out. I’ll keep giving her the decent food as well as her corn/grain mash but she struggles to move to get to the pots of food!
