Hi all, I have 4 easter egger chickens.

Recently, they have all seemed to be having the same issue. Their crops seem quite full despite the fact that they haven't been eating. Yesterday, when I went to see them midday, there was stuff in all their crops despite not having fed them yet. I checked this morning, and they were quite full, so I've been giving them water with Epsom salt as well as coconut oil. I'm not really sure why all of them have it. They did have access to quite a few sunflower seeds, so I'm worried that could be causing the blockage? However, they all seem fine. Their poops are normal, they're not demonstrating any other signs of impacted crop. I'm both worried and curious as to what might ne happening here. I've been able to break up the masses quite a bit as they're not completely hard, so hope that helps.

Any advice would be appreciated! Thank you!

When do you feed?

If, they didn't have food until midday?

They may be eating bedding if they don't have access to free choice feed during waking hours.

Do they have access to Grit (Crushed Granite)?
