Shortly before I brought them inside for the night, my hen started making these weird little jerking movements with her neck. Her crop was slightly firmer than usual, so I broke up the food by massaging with my fingers and gave them water to drink before bed. To me it looked like she was trying to get the food down, but couldn't. What do you all make of this? If she's still doing this in the morning, I have a friend more well versed in chickens than I am who said she could help me.
I should add, her breathing didn't sound strained or any different than usual. A couple people suggested respiratory arrest.
