Impacted crop surgery...we did it!

Wow, Hugh! when we met up the other day, eastbaychicks was telling me about someone who had used superglue to close the crop. I just didn't realize it was you! Way to go! Now I know who I'll be calling if I ever have to do this surgery.

It was interesting that for a few days after her surgery that her comb was pink colored instead of dark red, maybe due to the blood loss or something.

I am in Hollywood, CA this week at a AWWA water conference, I'll be back in town by the weekend. Saturday and Sunday are filling up fast for crop surgeries...

Hi Ms. Orp,

Dominique is looking good, she does have a much smaller crop, I can see it fill up during the day and empty in the morning (when I am home of course)...so far so good and never missed a day laying = I think that is a really good sign.

Followup on Ricky our rehomed rooster: my friend's uncle thinks that he is too skinny to cook and his aunt thinks that he is too pretty to cook, so Ricky lives on with his new chicken flock.
