Facebook and google are leaving me lost today...

So a week ago, I noticed my Comet acting a little funny, noticed she had vent gleet and started bathing and putting cream on her... she started being fine again.

Today we are lethargic, comb is darkening, won’t eat/drink, and our crop is swollen and hard. I imagine she’s got an impacted crop now. She hasn’t ate in 2 days and it’s gone down a little but it’s still a rock hard area this morning. I have her isolated which I think depresses her even more, she was a very social bird. Our vet quoted me $120 to just see her and with a wedding next month and a baby in 2 months away, I can’t afford that or a possible surgery. What else can I try to do for her? Someone said to try Flagyl for her but after reading more, I see that’s more just for cankers in the mouth. I had tried to dropper AVC and water in her the past couple of days. Any advice is appreciated.

Welcome To BYC

Sorry to hear about your hen.
Crop issues can be a symptom of an underlying condition. Give her a good going over check for lice/mites, any swelling/bloat of the abdomen and consider having a fecal float to rule out worms or coccidiosis overload.

Here's some reading for you http://www.backyardchickens.com/a/impacted-slow-and-sour-crops-prevention-and-treatments

I checked for mites and lice. One of my jerseys this morning started acting lethargic and wouldn’t get off the perch. I picked her up and she weighs probably half the weight she should. Vet perform a fecal float? I haven’t seen my jersey poop yet but the comet has yellow diarrhea with just a few black flecks to it. Thank you!!
