Hi all.
We went away for a day and my neighbour kept an eye on our three hens. We got back today and one was still in the coop. She wasn’t moving and kept closing her eyes.
Her crop was huge. We believe our other two have been picking on her aswell due to illness so we have segregated her for her own good.
When we picked her up liquid came out of her mouth. So after some advise and Google we have massaged and released her crop. At first just some sludgy green liquid. Second attempt a lot of thicker sludge and grass. My question is when do we stop with the regurgitation. She is in her segregated run now and hasn’t moved since we put her back. He crop feels smaller but I don’t know if we should keep the regurgitation going. My other worry is that I don’t know how many days she hasn’t eaten for. We left Friday at 11 am and she was fine running around eating but maybe a little quieter than usual. Got back at midday today and total opposite. So possible 3 days of no eating or drinking. Any advise please ?

I’m just concerned we didn’t get it all out. So not sure if I should keep regurgitating the hens crop.

Also if she hasn’t eaten for days or drunk much what do I do ?
Also when should she start to be less lethargic?

Thansk

Read the 2 articles linked above in @RubelliteRose post. Both are very good and are what I use.

It's not a good idea to vomit a chicken since they can aspirate fluids.
Treat the symptoms instead.
Make sure she's drinking, if you need to, carefully syringe or tube fluids into her.

As mentioned in both articles, do be aware that usually crop symptoms are due to an underlying condition. It can take days of working on crops to see any results.
