I'd have to find some pretty large PVC pipe to accodimidate my flock and a whole case of duct tape

Nice. I have a pvc feeder that I'll post pics of later. I plan on making two more for grit and oyster shell. Saves alot of space in the coop.

Yaay, PVC!!!

I wanted to get a cap on the top of the feeder, and couldn't do that the way I had it.
So I took it down and put up a 1/2 inch board up, then fastened the feeders onto it. Now, I can fit the cap on to keep stuff (you know) out.

As you can see, I have now put up two, one for grit and one for oyster shell.
Does anyone see a problem with having them so close to each other or anything else that I may not be seeing as a problem?

Can I ask you some questions about your henhouse? I have been drawing plans for ours and am having a lot of trouble fitting everything we need into a small floor plan. How many birds do you have? We are thinking 4-6... depends on what the city says next month and how many of our 6 chicks turn out to be roos! So something small like your 4x4 would be great. But I am having a heck of a time fitting enough roost space in (if we have 6, that's 60") with floor space for the feeder and waterer (they are like 12" diameter, right?) that is close enough to an opening door for access, and an interior nest box. I am assuming that here in cold Maine, and exterior box is bad re: frozen eggs.... am I wrong? The house itself will be insulated.

So how do you fit the feed/water in with enough roost space? Do you have other pics of the interior (and exterior) that you can share?

Oh, and a question for Greenfields about the pophole in their pic.... What are the dimensions?

Anyone, what is the minimum dimensions for pophole for full-size hens? I would love to use a pet door so that cold air won't get in in the winter, would a cat door work or be too small? (I am guessing too small, they are like 7" wide...but so much cheaper than dog doors!)
