In a bit of a predicament

Never seen a Hen with a white collar, green bill or head and chest feathers coloured that way if not a Drake..

I am curious too, the green bill is usually in male mallards and Rouens..Brown in females. Maybe just young enough not to have curled tail feather.

Several of my hens have had white collars.

She is a He...That's a young Drake and looks to be a Rouen cross.

Going by bill color, I also thought it might be a drake in eclipse plumage. I wonder how old the bird is and if it has yet to have a voice change ?

Absolutely. For me the deciding factor would be the age of the duck. Coloring does not cause me doubt as much as the beak color and drake's behavior - although neither is decisive in gender ID.

That's where knowledge of the duck's age would be helpful. I've had the occasional drake that quacked almost until the development of Nuptial plumage.

Really guess I am not knowledgeable on the Mallard derived since up until a few years ago I only had Muscovy. But my Runner drake never did actually quack
