In a very unique situation, can I have help?

The babies are doing very well in the outdoor brooder. They are happy and very cute :) My mom wants me to give them to my sister's friend who has the other three, but my concern is that they'll breed with each other as he has no other ducks. I, on the other hand have plenty of ducks, so when the babies are mature they'll have no trouble finding mates.

I doubt my mom will force me to give them up though.
A new generation of my duck flock are hatching now, so when the babies arfe adults there will be plenty of options for their mates.

:)

Just thought I'd post an update. All three of the babies are alive, and they have a little nest mate with them(A young silver Appleyard) I moved them to a cage recently, as they were stinking the brooder out.
Here's a pic of my little ones (Don't worry they have a heating pad in the house part of their little coop)

So cute! I brood mine outside. Not sure where you are but here the nights even are 80+ degrees. I only keep them inside the first 5 or 6 days

Cool! At first they were in an insulated brooder box with a clear plastic lid, but they kinda outgrew that. I live in New Zealand, so it'd coming into Spring, and thank the Heavens it's getting warmer!

I hear you! It's been a long cold winter in South Australia too, can't wait for some warmth!

Ahhhh It was so cold this Winter. Frost everywhere and water troughs turning to ice. I don't think I could survive anywhere where it snowed in Winter...

On a completely unrelated note, how did your broody hen's eggs go?

Definitely more frosts this year here too! So cold! I'm glad it doesn't snow here as well. Brrr....

Broody is still going with the remaining 2 eggs, on day 17 today. I'm hopeful they'll both hatch, I picked up a large rabbit hutch/mansion yesterday for her and the babes to move into when they break out!
