One of my reds is having some problems with something I believe is heat Temps in my area. She was struggling yesterday and I did what I could to help her and this morning she was still struggling. She's lethargic, no eating, drinking or standing up, comb looks pale Your help would be greatly appreciated. 17559729206105754846194679637539.jpg

How old is she? Do you know when she last laid? Is her crop empty, full, hard, soft and squishy, etc.? Feel her abdomen, below the vent, between the legs, does if feel bloated, either very firm, or water balloon like? What do her droppings look like? Heat can be an issue, or it can be another underlying issue that makes the heat much harder on them.

Electrolytes! You can buy little packs of electrolyte mix for chickens and mix it with water. I'd recommend you get a syringe or dropper and try to get some down her beak. Just be sure you don't drop it into her airway(avoid water in the little hole in her mouth as it leads into her lungs).

Alternatively, you can make sugar water by adding 3 tablespoons of sugar, 1/8th teaspoon salt, and 1/8th teaspoon baking soda to 1 quart of water and letting them dissolve.

A thorough health check should be done as well. Look at her backside, see if she's bleeding or torn. Feel between her legs and compare to one of your other hens to gauge if it's normal or not.

Try putting a fan out for your girls when it gets super hot, some have misting attachments that will make it several degrees cooler.

8-9 months old, yesterday she laid an egg, crop is empty, abdomen feels like none of the above feels empty. She just had a bowl movement and it looked like black ink. Thank You for your help. Any idea suggestions for me. 🥴🤔👍🙏🏻🐓🐔

Any possibility that she got into and ate something that she should not have? Does she free range, or is in a secure coop/run all the time? Can you post a picture of the dropping?
