Mary Louise, a big buff orphington, who passed yesterday afternoon. I remember how she took a leadership role with my new babies last fall. She watched over them, and took them to the orchard and back when they were old enough to be out of the pen. I never worried about the younger ones when Mary Louise was with them.

That's my favorite memory!! What's yours?

So sorry for your loss.

So sorry Ann for your loss.

Most recently it was not being able to find Miss MoneyPenny in the pile of leaves in the backyard...I'd wind up calling her and her little head would pop up like a periscope.

Tom Brunanski, my EE pullet would sing.

Jerry Remy, my Leghorn cockerel liked Portuguese Sweetbread.

Slifer the Sky Dragon, loved HOT food...Thai, Buffalo chicken, Habanero Doritos, she was there...She also crowed...

Ooooh....mine was my very first chicken Mr. Peabody. He was a Barred Cochin Bantam and was potty trained! LOL! He lived in the house, and had a specific whine when he was out and needed to go. I'd sit him on the toilet and he do his business and hop off! LOL! When he was outside, he just went wherever. I don't know what happened to him, because my ex-dad hauled him off one day when I was at school.

I loved that roo so much and he loved me! I nursed him back to health after a nasty infection during a dominance fight with Midas, my grandfather's roo.

Nice thread, and a great way to remember our special chickens.
