Mexican food and fast food don't mix. It's a recipe for diarrhea. I only eat Mexican food from sanitary kitchens like my own or a quality restaurant. We have an amazing fast...ish Mexican place a couple of towns over but it's a drive to get there. They have a smothered burrito that is just delicious. They also have "meatless" and "vegan" options. I don't have anything against vegans per se...but if you don't want to eat animals then don't. Stay away from my meat. That's your intention. A vegan with a hamburger...impossible meat or not is not a vegan imho. Eat your salad because that's what you wanted and keep your food off my grill. I raise my meat ethically and when I'm hungry I kill it myself in a way that is painless. I'm not a hungry savannah lion ripping the still beating heart from a gazelle.Blech taco bell. All day long.I think the restaurant is probably catering to its regular customers. Eating at a restaurant once every 30 days or once every 60 days is not paying any of their bills.
I think if you want to complain about someone's menu you should eat their more often before you complain.
If I ate there that much I'd be even fatter than I already am. But when they had the lamb burger...I go 3 times a month. 16 dollars for pure heaven. Every other month is a wish wash on the burger of the month. Sometimes I get it and sometimes I stick to what I like. So when I saw it wasn't my heart sank. All day long.
My aunt & uncle owned a restaurant (supper, wine bar, desserts) for 40+ years on the CA coast. They had a cool custom salad bar… it was an old sail boat sloop, that one of their fishmongers had found after it had washed up. It was OLD. And teak… they had it refurbished and made it the salad bar.
After an earthquake, they had to remove the sailboat buffet bc the building couldn’t be modified to support it with the needed repairs.
One day my aunt gets a phone call: “I’m mrs. ——, and I eat at your restaurant all of the time, and I just wanted to say that I am so disappointed that you removed the sail boat/salad bar…”
Her call was in 1999. The earthquake that caused them to remove the sailboat was in 1994 (Northridge).
My aunt, polite personified, still brings that lady up at family get togethers.
Businesses change. Restaurants in particular do not consider you a regular at 6-12 visits a year.
On the other hand, if you want a dish that may not be on the menu currently, you can call them and ask, but again for a random customer, they aren’t going to be in a real great rush to provide an off menu meal for a cx that may or may not show up once a month.
A sorta regular cx (2person) would be at min 1x/week. And it’d have to be like clockwork. Or be family. Or a former employee. Or a neighbor. An actual regular would be a several times a week patron.
Personally, call and ask. If they say yes, you’re golden. Enjoy! I hope you have a great meal, wherever it happens!
