Hi everyone :D I live in New Jersey and really need to find a place where I can buy a duckling or two as pets. I need to find a local farmer because I do not want to resort to buying online. Dos anyone sell ducks or have any suggestions?

We have a buy sell trade thread here on BYC just scroll down farther than you are here on the duck thread. or go to your state thread at "Where am i where are you" and meet some of the members in your state. Also TSC has chick days starting soon they sell ducklings and chicks. 2 would be best ducklings/ducks really like the companion of their own kind. What breed are you interested in?
Some good info to read while doing your search. https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/750869/raising-and-caring-for-ducklings#post_10611711

Thank you !!! I am interested in Call ducks or pekins
Calls will be much harder to come by than Pekins. Pekins are pretty common and all the feed stores should have them soon. You will need more than just one though. They get very lonely if you only have one duck and can get quite depressed. Definitely read through the link MissLyida posted a good book on duck care is also invaluable. Something Storey's Guide to Raising Ducks. There is another about raising pet ducks but I'm drawing a blank.

Pekin should be easy enough to get through local feed mills, calls are a whole 'nother ball of wax, much less common and more costly. As others have said for sure two, they are flock animals and truly benefit from others of their kind.

May i ask what you goals are for ducks? i own both those breeds but they are VERY different.
