I’m extremely new to raising poults. My husband actually bought 34 ...4 day old Narragansett turkeys. He did this not knowing the first thing about them. His plan was to try and have them live on some land we have. I’m quickly learning that it’s not easy to raise them. He works 7 days a week...so.. this falls back on me. I have absolutely no clue what I’m doing. I’m literally like a goose in the fog. Today one made its way out of the tank. I was not actually shocked...I’ve been telling my husband that it was coming. I went to our local tractor supply store and purchased some wire to cover the tops. I feel like I’m falling at this. I’m frustrated to say the least. We did lose 4 so far. And it crushed me. I know that it’s part of it but... It’s still sad to me. Does anyone have a tips to would be helpful at this point?
I’ve been reading things about raising them but...of course I’m not sure.
Any help I’ll be gratefully appreciated.
