A lot depends on the security of your coop and run.
I never keep food in coops here because it attracts rats and anything else that can get in and is hungry.
I free range so the coops aren't secure in daylight hours given there is no run attached and the pop doors are open.
I don't leave feed out at all in fact. Free ranging means any food left out gets eaten by everything passing by including donkey's and sheep
I feed and remove.
My view is only keep feed in coops if they are absolutely secure (rat proof) and if you absolutely must.
