In the emergency of a natural disaster where do you move your chickens?

Pics
We had to evacuate one year, but they ended up putting out the fire 1 mile away from us, and it was an unexpected fire, in the summer, I had a hen sitting on eggs, and about 20 hens at the time, I did like they did in the time of Noah, and as far as birds, I collected 7 young ones, (Noah collected 2 each of fur animals and 7 each of birds) and some undeveloped eggs in case I had to set some, and crossed my fingers.( I am sure with the Noah, 2 by 2 animal things they collected babies to fit them all.)

When you first mentioned Noah, I thought you were going to say you dug a moat and all hid in it! :gig

The easiest way I have heard is to burrito wrap them up in towels, then they are totally stackable and portable.
Sorry, not sorry it is in our hurricane evac plan. We plan on taking the chicken with us. Not like we have a silly pilots checklist or anything, just we couldn't evacuate without them.

Our plan is like chainsaw, check!
Jeeps gassed, check.
Animals all loaded, check!

After this we would move on to the food and water part of the checklist not saying I have one but I wouldn"t abandon mine either.

Yeah the wrap the chickens up won’t work for Us as we have dogs and rabbits and trying to fit everyone together really won’t be fun lol

Chicken wrapping isn't that bad. We do it all the time when we need to shave the Silkie heads to keep them from becoming hawk prey. It isn't that traumatic. The head shaving produces the trauma. Just plan to stack them upon themselves in their own cage. I totally agree they should not be mixed in with dogs or bunnies, unless they are my dogs.

Once wrapped they calm down. Regardless our evacuation plan is the chicken go in the chicken/cat Jeep, mine is the dog/tool carrying one. I have no clue where to put the 10 gallons of emergency water though. We will get there one day running from a horrible disaster. Also, I am not sure our bugger of a cat will not eat our emergency beans, but that is just how he rolls. I mean to say this little innocent kitten ate our welcome to the neighborhood cucumber sandwiches in 2007. and yep, I am still upset.

That's great for short term containment, to do some kind of trimming...
...but for evacuation with no pen at the end of the ride, not so good.

Yep sometimes there are just no good options except to escape with your lives. My evacuation plan has me only driving 20 miles to a governmental parking garage for shelter should a bad hurricane hit. I am thankful I do not need to go far. Government buildings are usually built to tolerate 135mph winds with no issue at least that was the case in barracks I lived in when they were in hurricane zones.

Yeah. But if we can get a cage for them and wrap them would that Be better
