I would think if her separation anxiety is bad enough for her to be on meds, it's really bad. I hope you are prepared for that kind of training. It is not easy.

She was only on meds because when her last owners surrendered her to the shelter she got so upset she was hurting herself trying to get out of her cage and back to them.
It's been almost a month now and she's doing a lot better and almost off her meds completely. I've been visiting her and walking her almost everyday for the past week, she's a sweet dog.

Okay, that's good. Just be aware that rescue dogs often become attached to their new owners and develop separation anxiety after moving in with a new family.
