in this random rambling thread we post random pictures

My pet pev is people who own pit bulls that walk them around without leashes. When you're trying to walk your dog. They always say the same thing,"He's a nice pit bull, He'd never bite anyone. He loves other dogs!"

To which I reply, "Not yet, he hasn't but he will! So if he bites my Great Dane, you're going to have problems with me!"
I have already had to shoot an kill a harmless pit that tried to rip a kids face off in front of me. Anyone dumb enough to think its ok to let any dog run loose around other people an other peoples property is to dumb for me to trust their word that it is harmless. All dogs are killers given the ability an opportunity. The greater ability they have, the less opportunity you should give them.

Now I do understand it's not the dog, not all pit bulls are bad. But it seems a certain type of person is drawn to that breed and usually they don't know how to train any dog, let alone that breed.

I'm glad I'm not alone in feeling this way.

I couldn't agree more. A lot of people seem to take on breeds they can't handle or just can't commit the time to exercising.

We have an issue once in a while with a lady who likes to walk her Rottweilers without a leash. They've ran at me with my dogs on more than one occasion with her yelling "they're friendly, they won't hurt". All fine and dandy, but one of these times the dogs without a leash and the ones on a leash are going to clash.

Here's one, Missy just got her bath and a comb job the other day. She still has a lot of under coat. She takes a lot of combing in the spring to get that out..takes a few days.
Have to post a photo of her running, she loves it! Was looking for her ball, couldn't find it, came running back to me to see if I had it.

Loving all of the dog photos. I used to rescue and foster. I miss that. Just can't do it anymore. I never had the chance to foster a Great Dane, love that color.
Tommy, do you use your Springer for hunting? :)
