in this random rambling thread we post random pictures

I remember seeing a chart on here that had all of these fun sentences using words that were the same/similar to say things like "The dear deer" to make really confusing sentences. I tried to find it, but I couldn't. Does anyone have the picture or know what page it is on? I have a friend who does not natively speak English and I would love to try it out on him :)

Couldn't find it on this thread but I did find it!

I will never understand why we have words that are pronounced the same but not spelled the same am people get upset over which way you spell it. If I can stand face to face with you an speak these words you only need the context to tell them apart. So why when I write them down do you suddenly need them to be different words to keep you from getting confused?

Quote: Wow, thanks, this is awesome! I'll most definitely show this to him. Although, what I was thinking was was actually a little different. I think it used the words were spelled the same, but pronounced differently, so it was tricky to understand the sentences :) But thanks for finding this, it is great!

cent scent sent.
Yes.
Homeschooling was a bear-bare.
I agree. We need to prune our language, and I think texting and Internet will eventually do that.
There are so many important things to get our panties in a knot -not over, that this just should not be one-won of them.

However, I do see that if we are reading and I wrote won for one, we'd-weed bee-be very confused.
pear-pare which-witch. I am glad I do not have to learn English as a second language.

There is 'wind', like air , and there is 'wind' like a clock- those kind of words? They have a specific name and I can not remember it.

These are Homophones

I wish I could make the picture present itself here like you all can.

Homonyms! (I taught the boy well then I promptly forgot. Good thing his brain is still young.)

Oh that one! Hmmm. I remember seeing it but I'm not sure where it is. The links 3goodeggs shared are great though!

Sounds like Olive is conflicted, she really doesn't care to have chicks but, being a hen everyone expects her to - so she is sitting on air as her solution. One smart hen.
