in this random rambling thread we post random pictures

Wow! That's gorgeous, did you paint that?"
Yep, I decorated it. Not paint but layers of wax & dye: pysanka.
And I didn't blow out the egg, just let it dry out naturally - so it is whole (no holes). :)
Mine is very rough compared to some of the pros.
Amazing history & meaning to the designs.

That's truly amazing. You are very good at it, pro or no pro. I'm an artist too. Why are we always hardest on our own work? When others never see the flaws until we point them out.

Dry out naturally? How's that work? Beautiful by the way
Thank you! I enjoy decorating eggs & my mom found this kit for me. It was one of the suggested patterns. I had fun & like the meticulousness of it.
My next step is to get a dental drill & carve the shells.

If you leave the eggs in a ventilated dry spot (not too warm), the yolk & white just dry to powder inside. It can take 3 months or a year depending on your local humidity.
My choice was a top shelf of a glass-front china cabinet with indirect sunlight. Took 4 months.

That's so cool thank you :)

Beautiful eggs - just reminded me I haven't seen any posts by Psankygirl in a long time. I can't even remember what thread she was on. Will have to search for her and see if she is okay.
