I am glad, we don't have those alligators, or crocodiles, or what ever they are here. They've gotten out of control since I lived in FL. :/

That is a great question..had to go look that up. Here is what I saw first.

Although they can reproduce, not all splake do, and some populations lack suitable habitat for spawning, which is generally rocky reefs near deep water. They also are capable of back-crossing (hybrids mating with parent species), which has occurred in hatcheries but evidently not in the wild.

Alligators, an are you sure you do not have them? NYC has more Alligator calls to handle than the whole state of Florida. Mainly cause Florida does not usually respond to calls about gators cause they are everywhere while in NYC they are illegal. They can also freeze solid an then thaw out later without being hurt. There is one in a pond up here. So they can live pretty much anywhere.
 
No, never even heard of one being out here. Thank goodness. Utah's biggest baddest thing is probably the Mountain Lion...well, the Black Bear too. The Black Bear being more of a problem through the years.
