That really does not mean much. The murder rate is 4 times the national average still. Robberies are 5 times the national average. Auto theft is 3 times national average. Rapes are twice the national average. It does not make the top 10 crime cities an is about the same as Atlanta but compared to most of the country it bad.
But on the bright side, Illinois is ranked 44th in suicide rates. Wyoming, Alaska, Montana, New Mexico and Utah are the five worst. Conclusion, we're mean but we're happy.
