in this random rambling thread we post random pictures

I was driving down the road when something caught my attention outside the passenger window. A snake was writhing there. I pulled over, searched for it and as I lifted the hood of the still running engine I saw it slither into the engine compartment. I waited and it didn't emerge so I drove on another few miles thinking perhaps it had fallen out and then its head appeared at the front of the hood as it came from the grill up over the hood toward the windshield a bit and then disappeared. I pulled over and searched again. No sign of it. I drove on. A few miles later I stopped for gas and gave the undercarriage and engine compartment another thorough search, pounding on things as I went. No sign of the snake......until I got home 75 miles away and opened my door.

When I shut the door the snake's head emerged OUTSIDE the truck and appeared caught so I opened the door a little and it slithered through the opening and onto the driveway and made its way into my neighbor's yard. NEVER AGAIN, I hope.

 Wow!

At first sign I would have abandoned the car and run off screaming. If the snake wanted the car so badly, he can have it! Fortunately I don't drive, and the thought of it being in a car with me is too upsetting to contemplate.

Even so, when he slithered out I would have crushed his head with a brick for scaring me so badly to begin with. Sometimes courage or foolharded-ness rears it's ugly head.

Must stop looking at that photo, it is just chilling. I can see it's fangs dripping blood. Too bad you couldn't slam the door on its head. Nightmares for sure!!

We do that with frogs and lizards a lot. A mouse or two... but not a snake. I don't think.

LOL, oh yeah, we get those frequently (frogs and lizards)! It's like they want to go for a ride...especially on the top of the hood or the windshield!
