I've had an egg business and lots and lots of chickens for years and years now. Today I found my first totally shell less egg! It's perfectly formed, with white and yolk and membrane, but no shell at all. Wow! I have 38 laying hens and have no idea who did this. Your thoughts???

Very cool! Hopefully it’s just a fluke and not a hen with reproductive issues. How old is your flock?
 
I bet it's not your first, just the first one you've seen. What usually happens with shell-less eggs is that they are laid off the roost, or are smashed, and then they get eaten.
