BYC is quite the vigilante site...

First someone rescues a bumble-footed bird from an abusive feed store...

Then some BYC'ers track down someone's stolen flock which were taken across state lines, ID the perp, and sic the authorities on him...

Then a new forum goes up for city codes and laws affecting backyard chickens and suddenly BYC is a hotbed of chicken activism...

Meanwhile there are active threads on underground chicken-keeping and a group of BYC'ers knitting for charity.

Whatever next?

Well, I've only received one request on this board to use my pictures and my response was:

"Yes, you can use our pictures if you include a note that says the pictures are courtesy of hinkjcpoultry.com ."

And I'm pretty sure it's not the person I sent this note to. I keep documentation of all permissions I authorize. If they would have asked, perhaps I would have allowed the use of the picture with the appropriate statement.

Well,
I emailed her and she emailed me back. She did try to delete it but there was a bid on the listing already. Please don't jump to conclusions. This is what she wrote to me. I will share with you folks. EDITED TO AD BLEH!!

Hey, I'm just the messenger. That is what she wrote to me. Honestly I don't have a clue about father, daughter, roo, cousin, aunt, line breeding, or nothin. If they hatch and live to give me eggs. THEN I"M HAPPY!

They did some checking on who this roo supposedly belongs too? Give me a break! They KNOW who it belongs to and chose to use it. They did not steal it from our website, where they are obviously watermarked for the Internet. They stole it from our photobucket, which shows their intent, if they had to go find one without a watermark. As for their rude comment about our lavender page - they obviously know nothing about breeding, so should really keep their comments to themself. That statement is not on my buff page and has no relevance to this discussion. I have been working on my orpingtons for many years with numerous bloodlines, but that is really not important for this discussion. I find her smilies insulting and I don't think this is funny. That was a rude email and not apologetic by any means.

Edited to add - let's not forget the fact that this person not only stole my pic, but Cackle's pic.
