Amy there is a very BIG difference in a "cornish game hen" and what I'm talking about. They are not the same breed. The birds your referring to or called cornish cross or CX. They are a cross(over simplified) with a white rock.

I've been trying to get a start on this type birds for around 15 to 20 yrs. I was hooked from the first sight of them

I'm going to breed towards the SOP in the following breeds
1st and foremost
LF White Cornish
2nd barred rocks- with an eye towards the Good Shepard type
3rd midget white turkey
I've also got some Malay and shamo I will be trying to "fix type"

You didn't say anything out of line. Lol You just stated the difference between the meat production type Cornish and what you are hatching.
I breed silkies and feel the same about comparisons of the average hatchery stock non bearded and breeder stock bearded...lol

The Cornish hens in the store are just labeled Cornish hens so it's easy to generalize the name. People buy silkies and don't understand why they aren't pretty and poofy like others' because again, the name is generalized.

Going the SOP route is something Ive been building towards for a little over a year. I have no intention of showing my birds. I would however like to get things to where I could give them to the ag and 4H kids so that THEY could show them.
