It says aug. 27-28 by the moon phase is perfect for setting eggs to get a better hatch rate.

anyone setting or want to set eggs on this date

i'm going to set eggs on the 27th of Aug

let's keep everyone updated and posted on our progress.

i will be setting 32 eggs which are a mixture of silkies, cochins, frizzles, sizzles

The waxing moon phase is the best time for setting, the dates per month change depending on the phase of the moon, I actually googled but I believe the dates are in the old farmers almanac as well.
I think it's a pretty cool idea myself.

Cool, I just started a thread b/c I didn't know one already existed. I chose the 27th for more mundane reasons, but good to know the "moon may be with me" lol lol lol I am setting houdans, NN, and araucana. This will be my first time ever.

Yeah I think it will be a interesting and hopefully good hatch too this is my 1st time using a bator other than homemade, I think houdans are very neat looking birds

Well, when I set all the eggs I had planned on 50% hatch rate b/c it being my first time and all, if they moon and the bator all align for the "perfect hatch" I may be in trouble!!!!! lol lol lol

Haha yeah trouble hope none are double yolks or you may get more than you bargained fr J/K if figured the same in being new to hatching so I got more eggs then the sellers shipped free eggs which added up by the time I was done lol
