Hiya duck owners! I recently acquired some fertile call duck eggs from a close friend of mine as a gift (She knows I've been wanting to raise call ducks forever!) They arrived safely, individually wrapped with no detached air cells or visible damage whatsoever
I am familiar with the incubation procedure for chickens, and have had 3 hatches through my hovabator, (2 of which with very high hatch rates- the third not so much due to low fertility- set 19 eggs- only 5 developed and only 1 hatched! The chick is doing alright but she's a bit lonely)
Anyways
I've seen some pretty mixed opinions and views online on hatching -ducks- but I can't seem to find much info on call ducks specifically and came here asking for any tips you can share. Do you use the turner or hand turn? Humidity you use for incubation and lockdown? Brooding- do you do the same exact thing as you would for chickens? I know some of these questions seem like basic no brainers but I really wanna make sure I do things right with these guys
