Incubating chicks with Farm Innovator 4200 and I don't understand hygrometer vs humidity

I am trying not to be in panic mode.... and I am not, but am looking for reassurance. I ordered an off-brand, no name (thought I got the named one) incubator off EBAY. It has arrived and to put it nicely, it's junk. It is warming up and by the outside type thermometer with a humidity gauge at the bottom placed inside this incubatort, the temperature is about 100 and humidity around 55%, but the alarms on this thing keep going off, and it absolutely will not let me or my husband set the alarm mode, or the humidity. So much for my rant.

I have eggs that need to go in an incubator tomorrow. So, my only choice, if I want to incubate them myself, is to go to Tractor Supply and buy a Farm Innovators Pro Series Air Circulated Incubator or the Little Gian Still Air t incubator and I would by the turner, and try. There is nothing else available around her on this short notice. I was going to order a Brinsea (bite the bullet) and have it overnighted, but it is too late now for that and it would not get her until Monday. I see that one poster above has a Farm innovator from TS and I see that you, Amy, are putting some eggs in a Little Giant, and I am sitting here with a broken and unusable safely incubator, so I don't even know why I am writing, anything that works is better... right (Bg). Thanks, just needed to get my thought outs there.

About the low humidity incubation, I live in AL, and humidity is one thing we do have. So will this work even with the incubator in an air conditioned house (the incubator would be in a small room where there is no air conditioning.?

The only thing is the LG's they sell now especially the 9300, doesn't have the best reviews and a lot of people that have bought them have regretted that to. I have an older model with the fan installed.

I ended up getting the Farm Innovator Pro Series Model 4200 at TS. Put the eggs in at 12:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 16th, and so far things are going good with temp and humidity. It is in my small bedroom/office. I have Polish, Calico Cochin Bantams and two Partridge Silkie eggs in it, 29 eggs total.
