In the Brooder
Hey fam!!!
This is my first go around incubating eggs. I currently have 8 in a self-turning incubator that I purchased at our local Agway. I have been mainting the humidity, and the temperature always seems to be exactly right! I decided to candle my eggs this evening and 6 of them appear to be exactly on par! Beautiful vein structures, air sacs, and most of the eggs are now hard to see through due to the babies growing
However! I have two eggs, that just dont seem right. I’ve read in some of y’all’s posts that it’s really important to remove eggs that have died so that they
don’t explode and contaminate the incubator.
Can you guys give me some insight into whether I’m correct in my thinking that these are no good?
The first two pictures, are egg #1 which I’m on the fence about. It appears to have the infamous blood ring I’ve read about, but when candled and viewed from one side, it’s seems to have such a dark, concentrated area. The third picture is the same egg, turned 180degrees.
Pictures 4,5, and 6 I’m pretty certain needs to go, but any insight would be appreciated!!!
