Im going to be setting some eggs shortly but a couple are oblong and may or may not be double yolks due to being new hens, etc… but one is GIANT (like the size of a duck egg) and most def double if i had to predict, although i cannot find my candler ATM. Does anyone have exeperience incubating confirmed or suspected double yolkers?i am tempted to try just to see what happens, but I would like to know what to expect.
Can anyone share experience on incubating known or suspected double yolk eggs so i can be prepared? Is it even wirth it to see if i get chicks from these eggs?

some people have successfully hatched double yolkers but it’s very very rare to get two healthy chicks. I haven’t ever tried it but do enjoy following people who try. Personally I would never buy or sell a double yolker as a hatching egg but if you have the incubator space and are prepared for the very real possibility that you might have to cull one or two deformed chicks it could make a fun experiment if you’re into that sort of thing. A mother hen would certainly try to hatch one.

I have never tried to incubate a double yolked egg myself. Over the years there have been a few threads on here of people trying it. People get different results. Often it doesn't work at all, you get no chicks. Either they do not develop or they die during hatching. Occasionally, people do get one chick out of it. Rarely, very rarely, people do get two chicks out of incubating a double yolked egg. Usually that involves a lot of direct hands-on help during hatch.

If you are into drama, really want all of that excitement, or just want the challenge, go for it. It is unlikely to work but the drama level could be really high. Personally when I hatch chicks I want chicks, not the excitement, so I avoid incubating double yolked eggs.

I've seen pics of a successful double yorker hatch. Prior to getting my quail, I was lurking/researching in the r/quail sub-reddit and someone had accidentally hatched twins. They posted pics 1 week on and the chicks were perfect just a little smaller than their hatch mates. I haven't seen any about chickens though. https://www.reddit.com/r/quails/s/tiYZAeLNOe
Edit: typo and to add link to twin quail pics.
