Incubating duck eggs!!!/ hatch along for any bird

I've never incubated duck eggs but if u google incubating duck eggs you'll get all the info you need. Also I suggest starting a thread in the ducks section. There will be experienced folks there. Best of luck!

Hey everyone!!! Sorry been very busy lately! We started two pens one for our chickens and one for our ducks they are 12 by 12 by 6.
So here are some answers

No I'm currently not hatching have to wait till spring to hatch some chicken eggs!! A pit bull came and killed my favorite chicken:hit so now we are down to three. A dang hawk has killed 12 chicken total.

Ok and runner ducks, duck eggs you can dry incubate but I find it causes problems during hatching due to a tough membrane, and ducks eggs are already thick enough for the little babies. So what I do is after day 7 I take all the eggs out of the incubator, mist them, than lets them sit out for 15 minutes or until slightly cold to the touch. Than I keep humidity between 40-50%. And temp 99.5 for the first 3 weeks than lower it to 98.5 the last week then he last two days, one day in to lockdown( or until you here peepin) 97.5 degrees. During lockdown I keep it between 60-75 no longer and no more. If you have any other questions, just add w post or send me a pm :):D

Great info here, I set duck eggs mix of pekin & Muscovy in the bator on 1/4/15 evening, Temp is at 99.5 degrees ad humidity is 43-48%. Any pointers?

Is anyone else incubating this early?

Hello, chickster5003! I'm setting up my Brinsea Octagon incubator today! I have eight Pekin eggs on the counter, hopefully will be gathering two more this morning if the ducks cooperate. My thermometer and humidity tester come today in the mail! Cannot wait to put the eggs in tomorrow!
What day is lockdown for ducks?

My Brinsea's humidity won't get above 40%. I put a humidifier in the room, and filled both channels. What else can be done to boost it?
I have all my duck eggs gathered that I want, can I put them in this morning? I started up the incubator yesterday morning. The heat is correct.

Put the eggs in! The humidity is up to 50% now. Is the way the eggs are set up good? There are 12 total. On day 26, lockdown, should I remove the bars and let the bars lay flat?
