Incubating ducks weird spot, bacteria maybe?

I agree, probably bacteria. I had one that look like that and it died too. Upon inspection of the inside of the shell I could see what looked like a spot where bacteria had entered, and the yolk of the duckling was basically one mass of pus. Don't feel bad, I'm sure nothin could have saved it. :hugs
Bummer, I did notice the green area had leaked into the air cell cuz it was partially green too. Yeah, that's the sad part, can't save them all but there are none others to distract me

I am so sad for you. :hugs

Okay what should I do? Found this wrong sideed pip 12 hours ago. I peeled a wee bit away to be sure I could see his beak so I knew he could breath but nothing has changed since. Do I need to continue helping it hatch? I know the pics suck but I don't want to open the lid any more than I have to.

Looks fine to me. Not ideal, but as long as the nostrils are clear, I’d just let it do it’s thing.

And keep in mind that missing the air cell means longer wait time. It could take 48 hours or more for it to zip now.
