Incubating Eggs before Shipping

Hi Janel! Thanks for the information! That's interesting and quite pondersome.
I wouldn't've thought it possible, but I'm fascinated by the possibilities.

When this all gets started I'm in.

I'll have several breeds laying by March and I have a Sportman and a few others I can test in. Maybe try different types of machines to see if there's a difference.

I have FBCMs, Favs, Penes, AMs and a few more. Several Polish but waiting to she if all I got were roos again. Also have some in the bator right now, so several more breeds coming I hope.

I have not had any experience with shipping or receiving eggs that have been incubated for 3 days but it sounds intriguing.

I did have two hatches this year where the power went off for 2 days plus , once at day 4 another time at day 12 and I had no hatching problem.

Hi All,
It makes sense, to me, that eggs could be shipped after three days of incubation and hatch. My mutt hens lay eggs and miraculously they all seem to hatch during the same 12-18 hour time period. So the hen while she may be on the nest, to protect the clutch, the entire time is obviously not applying the same amount of heat to the eggs as she does when the last egg is laid.

I would love to do this too! I will have B/B/S Orps and Silkies and a new Brinsea Octagon 20 (manually turned). I would love to receive some of the same breeds, or Mille Fleur D'uccles, or FBCMs.

Hey we still gonna do this? If so we need to make a list of who's gonna send /get what
and who wants to recieve the eggs to incubate. I will still get eggs to those that I promised I would.

I am still in! I will send B/B/S Orpington or B/B/S Silkie eggs (or some of each)-depending what I have available at the time.

ETA: I would like to receive some of the same, if possible.
