Incubating eggs for the first time.

Two more hatched this afternoon now taking the count to 11 chicks! Pretty happy for that success for my first attempt at incubating

I still have two eggs in the incubator but not holding my breath, I'll candle them tomorrow if they don't hatch just to make sure. But to have 11 out of 14 at lock down is a pretty successful hatch in my books.

Here is a picture of the 11 together, most are light brown almost beige, but there a couple with stripped backs not sure what that really means at this point.

That's great! Yay! They are so cute!

It's amazing how fast they get on their feet, drink and eat. I saw one chick yesterday taking a step forward scratching and steping back again to take a look! 2 day old and scratching already

What gets me is by day two you can already see the tips of their wings feathering in!! They sure don't stay fluffy long!

Here they are at 4 weeks old, amazing how fast they grow! Interesting colors as well for that mix I was expecting to see some white birds in the mix but it looks like the Rhode Island Red side of the Gene pool is the dominant Gene in this hatch.
