Last time I had 5 eggs in my incubator .
Unfortunately all 5 chicks died just a few days before hatching. I suspect it was due to a bacterial invasion cause I found blood ring in one of the eggs. I am again incubating eggs and some of the eggs are a little Porus and I don't want to ruin them so what should I do to ensure that my incubator is free from bacteria? Please help.

Clean it with a mild bleach solution and be sure to wash your hands before touching the incubator. Do you wash your eggs first? Moisture and scrubbing can actually force bacteria through the shell, while removing the protective coating. This website has some great advice, it’s long but very informative

Personally, I never wash any of mine, I pick off the big pieces and just hatch them. I also regularly smell check my incubator. So far I’ve only took out two stinkers of the hundreds I’ve hatched.

I have only hatched a 2 batches working on my 3rd at the moment, I don't clean my eggs but I do use vinegar to clean the incubator and egg turner, my first batch had 9 out of 11 hatch 32 our of 34 on second batch lived and are doing great, granted I actually piped all of them.
