Hey! So this will be 2nd time incubating with my new incubator which hatched 5 out of 7 last time. My question I am going to pick some eggs up today from a farm about 20 min from my house should I still let the eggs sit 24hrs before inserting them in the incubator or will they be ok to just put in today? Also should I let them sit in the incubator for 3 days before I turn the turner on?

How old are the eggs? How long have they been stored? If they were laid today or yesterday, I'd think letting them settle from the trip home would be a good thing. Also it would be OK to delay the turning a bit. But if they are more than a few days old I'd as a minimum start the turner pretty soon.

How rough is the road you will be on? I once caused a lot of problems by not cushioning the eggs well enough on some really rough dirt farm roads. I only hatched 10 out of 30 and I blame that on the rough roads an shaking them up. If you have all pavement or smooth roads you ill probably be OK but cushion them well any way and try not to speed.

last batch of eggs i set i got 12 eggs from a farm that was 4 hours from home. I candled them all when i got home looking for a detched aircell. All were fine so i put them right in the turner. I had 50% hatch. 1 clear 1 malposition 4 quitters.

I usually put them in the incubator asap but I don't turn the turner on until the next day. I have a hatch on Tuesday.

They are anywhere from 1-4 days. Most will be interstate. From the map I saw the road leading to the farm looks paved. I still have all materials from when I bought eggs online so I'll just take that with me and wrap the eggs up. I'm hoping for a good hatch because I will be keeping all of them to start breeding next year. They are D'uccle eggs which will be new territory for me because I'm used to incubating xxl eggs from my girls lol

I'm so excited I finally found one so close. It took me FOREVER to find one and it's a smaller one so they don't have a ton of customers yet. I'm actually getting some OE eggs from them in a few weeks

hello, Incubating for the first time. I had 5 eggs, all mixed bantams. 2 hatched on day 20, 1 hatched on day 21, and today, day 22 two still in the bator, no pip, no nothing... I took the three chicks out and added some more water and quickly candled the 2 remaining eggs (without taking them out or touching). One looks like still has all the veins, and air sack intact, and the chick is moving inside. Second looked like the air filled the egg, lots of dark area, saw no movement (again, I did candle only for a few seconds) What's going on? Is one dead? Is the one that's still moving having problems getting out???

The one with no movement is likely dead. If there are no external pips you can take them out to candle them. The one with movement might need help but its hard to say. Ive never assisted any that didnt make an external pip on their own before.
