I would not add mealworms.Hell me too.
Will do (or at least, I will avoid the incubator, it's too early for me to sleep). I've got the brooder set up heat wise, gonna grind some feed up shortly. Should I add anything to it as it's 22% all flock crumble? My shipment of game starter got delayed by the weather. I have lots of dried meal worm on hand so I can always grind some of that in too if it'll help. Also, should I put something in there for them to cuddle since they will be alone for a while?
I would not add mealworms.
I use a warmed up (slightly) rice sock for first hatchers. Do not put anything in the brooder were the dummy can get in, under, stuck behind...because it will not end good.
It's out now, right?Update: They aren't out yet, but they're still peeping up a storm. I've got quail peeps playing on my phone to give them some encouragement.
It's out now, right?
If your incubator is foggy then your humidity is way too high girlfriend.I was avoiding them because I was getting nervous, lol but yep, they're out! My incubator is too foggy to post pictures cause I kicked the humidity way up, but I'll post pictures once they fluff up and I move them. Is there anything I should look out for? Right now they seem to be doing the normal sprawling on the ground nap that new born (chickens) chicks do.
My hygrometer says 55%...I think it's just the shape of the clear panel that sits on the top. It's on the cheap side so anytime I kick up the humidity past 45% it starts to fog...that's what I tell myself, anyway. If your incubator is foggy then your humidity is way too high girlfriend.
If your breeder is warm there's no reason you can't move them now.
I move mine almost immediately to a warm brooder with grippy shelf liner floor or a towel laid flat.

Will do, I've got it all set up with a towel!
