Well, of the eggs that I took to my friend's house with their really nice new cabinet incubator, only 5 chicks hatched out. Some of the eggs were almost 2 weeks old but I wanted to try, just in case. Probably was the fresh ones that hatched, I know 6 had to be tossed early due to being clear and one went bad.
Of the 5 pea chicks that hatched I think I am going to have to put one down due to feet curled all the way back but will see this afternoon when I pick them up. One or two have curled toes and they put slippers on them (they are the best of people!).
So from my experience, I like my hens to hatch but I am not discounting that plenty of folks get great hatches in a bator with pea eggs. We just haven't found the correct "click" yet to make it happen.
I hope to get more eggs to try as my hens are full up with pea eggs for now.
